Default Lexus suspension seems to be adjusting quite often

I swapped in an non-AVS BC coilover set, and left the motors in place plugged in just in case it threw codes from removing them. I noticed that starting after releasing the brake, when the car started to roll forward, there'd be a scrape-like sound coming from the corners of the car. Platinum VIP helped me narrow it down to the motors activating when the car is leaving from a stop. The car did this in Normal, Sport, and Sport+ modes. This seems to indicate that the car actively adjusts the suspension even from a stop. I didn't realize it was this active. I thought it just set the suspension to hard/normal/soft depending on the mode.
I wish I had gotten an AVS compatible setup

Just an FYI thread

Thanks for the heads up. I plan on doing a set of coilovers in the next year or so and have gone back and forth on whether or not to keep the AVS. You answered that question!

AVS is a feedbackless system, it'll continue adjusting multiple times a second whether or not it's connected to compatible shocks. The vehicle is constantly steadying the ride, it's much more than just 'soft' or 'firm'.

Just my 2 cents - I had to make this same decision when I was in the market looking to upgrade my suspension. Alot of folks will say AVS is useless and/or is not worth it (especially the guys trying to sell you coils), but for me it is very worth it and plus I wouldn't pay for a high priced luxury car just to disable one of its nice features IMO. There were only a few options in the market that were AVS capable when I was searching and they were Tein and RSR. I ultimately went with RSR Best-i coils and they have lived up to the expectation and have zero regrets.

Thanks for the Info! I had no idea and have always gone back and forth with what I am going to do. Decision made! Thanks again!

Exactly reason I went with AVS compatible RSR Besti Active Coilovers on mine. I didn't want to mess with AVS motor and lose out on that feature. Mine is working flawlessly, not a single issue. Other than RSR and Tein, I don't know of any other manufacturers that makes AVS compatible coilovers for our car.
