Default Wheels: Older Styles On Modern Vehicles

Obviously, looks are subjective, but I'm having a hard time determining if an old set of wheels I had on my '02 GS 300 would look good on my '13 450h. I'm needing to replace the tires anyway and I remembered that I had these wheels in storage so I'm trying to decide if I should buy tires for my old wheels which are 19's or the stock 18's. I wasn't planing on changing out the wheels, so it's either use the old wheels or leave it alone.

I think it will look good but its subjective. Definitely more things to consider with the aftermarket wheels you have in storage - overall width and offsets as well as ride quality with the larger rim/lower profile tire of the 19s.

The 4GS has bigger front calipers which those older wheels may not clear without spacers. Also, 19" tires tend to be more expensive than 18s.

Btw: Beautiful shot of your older GS...Those still look good to me all these years later!

Thank you. I loved that generation as well.

I believe they are 8" or 8.5" wide. I was planning on using some small spacers, but not for the reason you mentioned so thank you for pointing that out. I'll have to dig them out of storage see how/if they fit.
