19 Inch Rims Tires
Guys,
I was hoping if someone can help me out so I don't end up making the same mistake. My car is 2013 GS AWD and I recently purchased a set of 19x9 ET 35 and 19x10.5 ET 45 Velgen VMB5 from somebody.
I did plenty of research on this forum already however I still was not able to come to a conclusion. I need to understand what is the maximum widest tire (275 vs 285) I can run on these sizes without any rubbing issues. A few people say 285 is fine however a few users experienced rubbing issues, also most of the answers are with lowered heights and also 20 in rims. The car is not lowered and I do not have plans to lower the car as well. Can someone with the same fitment confirm if I can run the following:
I am trying to avoid 275 because with a 10.5 wide wheel there will be a slight lip on the wheel.
Front: 245/40/19 with 19x9 ET 35
Rear: 285/35/19 with 19x10.5 ET 45

If you don't lower, you'll be fine but your car will look like a 4x4. AWD is already too high IMO. I'm running 275 now in the rears lowered on RSR coilovers, it will rub with fully loaded back seats with two adults. Luckily for me, my two little girls are my only passengers.

Heads up, some tire manufacturers and specific tires are more square on the shoulder. For example, Michelin PS4S is quite square on the shoulder, so you might be able to avoid that lip you mentioned above. IIRC, Conti DWS06 is more rounded, as well as most Hankook tires.
I would stick with 275. 285 will work but if you're carrying a load in the rear you will rub.
