If one was particularly motivated (peasodos *ahem*) you could crack the stalk open and replace the blue LEDs with white ones so that they match better.

Let's see if someone takes the bait gives it a shot

I personally see no point to this, I don't want to see my cruise control stock

You can buy the ash tray insert, then it's an ash tray.
The sticker says not an ash tray because the insert is not included from the factory, you have to buy/install it on your own. Here is a picture and the part number.

If you want to be JDM you can buy two ash trays here for $50 with shipping from japan:

When I had the UX as a loaner for a few days, no CC stalk... my right pinky really missed that little sucker...

The point of mentioning the ashtray was not because I wanted one (never smoked, never will), but to see if there was an alternative to having it there is the first place. Like just a switch bezel with no ashtray cutout at all. Just a flat panel.

Have you considered designing and building a car that meets your likes? There are countries where people smoke, including the U.S., so they'd have to cut the flat panel to accommodate an ash tray.

It not an ashtray without the ashtray insert. It's a small storage compartment. I have removed the no cigarette stickers on the inside lid of that compartment. Why do you even care? It not hurting anyone or doing anything having that compartment.

As I stated before, I am nit picking. And if that's the only thing that "bothers" me, I can live with it. I was, by no means complaining. I love the car.

Great idea. I'll just design my next car from the ground up. Should be a piece of cake.
