Default Cruise control switch

I just noticed that the cruise switch on my 2018 GS is not illuminated. I find it pretty odd. My wife's 2017 Sienna has the same switch and it is illuminated. Has anyone tried swapping these parts? I know it's a bit crazy, but I'd like an illuminated switch.

I find the switch easy and intuitive to use I don't see the point in illuminating it. Does the Sienna illuminated white or blue? Removing the switch would only involve removing the airbag to get to the screws.

Looks like a bluish white which is similar to the lighting on my wheel. I know it's an easy switch to use, but it's the principal of the matter Oh, and SHE noticed it, not me.

Really? I don't think my CC stalk switch ever illuminate from my 2008 Camry to 2019 GS. Is the Sienna still using the stalk? They moved the CC switch to the steering wheel for the new ES and it illuminates.

Yes, the Sienna has the same stalk as my GS. The irritating part is that my wife noticed it and I didn't.

Yeah a blueish lit cruise control stock would look out of place since everything else is white. Tell your wife to learn to use cruise control, lol

Yes it does indeed light up. I'll probably wind up leaving it be, but it is just a tad annoying. I've been driving Infinitis since 2004 and this is my first Lexus. A couple little quirky things ( like ASHTRAYS in the rear door!), but I am getting used to it.

That is not an ashtray in the rear door until you put in the metal insert, otherwise you will burn the felt lining on the inside or set your car on fire.

Yeah and I believe it has the sticker that says it's not an ashtray. I don't know what it is for either but they kept it from 2013 - 2020.

I think there is a JDM part number for the metal ash tray insert. I guess in other parts of the world they put the ash tray insert in by default, so originally it was an ashtray, just not in the USA.

I know that, but really? You need to realize that I am nit picking now. This car is just about perfect the way it sits in stock form. Still miss the sound of my Infiniti exhaust though. Loved the tone of the VQ35s.

I hate cruise control - never use it. I don't feel 'in control' when using cruise control...

You control the steering wheel and the brakes, car just maintains the speed you set for optimal gas mileage. I wish I had dynamic cruise control.

I use cruise all the time as well. The dynamic cruise on the GS works very well, although I think it worked better on my old FX35. The GS seems to "sense" cars in the other lane very easily, whereas my FX would just sense the cars ahead of me in the same lane. In either case, I love dynamic cruise control.
