Hi,
Is the auto trunk close standard on the 2019 F Sport? If so, I can't find the switch to close. I checked owners manual and didn't see anything. Unfortunately, the dealer was out of 2019 manuals, so I ended up with a 2020 manual.
Thanks!!!!

It was an option, so no, not all of them have it.

I have mixed feelings on the power trunk. I always felt like my 15 was missing it and wanted it for my 19. There's something about parking your $60k Lexus next to a $50k Mercedes and manually slamming your trunk lid down while the Mercedes powers itself gracefully closed. ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
So now I have it and I do like the close feature, as I push the button and walk away, but every time I open it I feel like I'm waiting for the sun to rise. Takes forever.
Whereas I used to always just leave the key in my pocket, now I find myself pulling it out as I'm walking up to the car to click it open early enough that it will be open by the time I get to it. I know I can do a double press on the release and just open it manually, but then it's a bit of a waste.
This, my friends, is an absolutely ridiculous post that I just wrote and the very definition of a first world problem.

What! You mean you don't have a grocery bag hook in your trunk? If I were you I'd be embarrassed to death to have someone park beside me as I hit the Automatic Open Trunk button (which takes more time to open than you can hold your breath) and have them see that I don't have a grocery bag hook in my trunk. Geez! How pathetic of you! I check my grocery bag hook every night before jumping in bed...

i think maybe time to trade in the GS for a C-class.....this stuff really does annoy me.....it will come to a point where i will probably do this.
of course Lexus used to think of this stuff before (when building the first two fleets of lexus cars)......they were building german luxury and engineering, with Japanese manufacturing; it truly was the pursuit of perfection......
now...its just churn churn churn.

Remember the GS is now an O-L-D model without a significant update in 8+ years. If you're buying a car for the latest tech, the GS is not for you.If you're looking for flash over reliability, the GS is not for you.
I would really like to have a german alternative, and either Audi, BMW or Mercedes would meet my needs and would doubtless be a lot of fun and satisfying, but then I look 3, 4, 5+ years down the road and I am equally doubtless that I would regret owning those brands.
There are many who would like to stay with Lexus to maintain a higher level of reliability and we really want the GS to be updated... why do you think that "the GS is dead" thread refuses to go away?
