Cool Just how crappy are the stock Potenza tires?

So I had a chance to do some hard pulls from a stop this morning, yes again but I wasn't racing anyone this time.

I put my car in S+ mode and manual this time and kinda smashed the pedal. Kinda = didn't really floor it right of the bat but once the car started rolling, the pedal was on the floor. The car took off really fast, definitely faster than when I raced a GTI in Normal mode last time. Anyway, there was no wheel spin at take off but as soon as the full torque kicked in at arount 4-5K+ RPM, it broke traction and the light came on. I shift at close to redline and when it hits 2nd gear, everything in the rear view mirror is basically gone. The road wasn't the best and this morning temp was in the mid to high 50s.

I didn't like these tires on my 2014 before and certainly not happy with this one. It's a magnet for nails and screws, it feels sketchy in the rain, and I don't think it handles that well in dry condition either. Will switching to Michelin Pilot Super Sport or 4S make this car grips and handles better? We don't really get any other seasons here in SoCal, it's basically Spring and Summer all year so All-Season tires aren't a must have.

These Potenzas aren't cheap either, they cost more than some better tires and yet they don't perform as good. I don't understand why they're putting these at the factory. GS F comes with Super Sport if recall correctly and I think the 350s should too!

Check the dates on the tires to see how old they are & what model Potenza they are. Not all Potenza's are Hi-Performance. Check air pressure too.

not to defend tires I don't like but they may have just been too cold to really grip , if you did that hard pull within 20 minutes of hopping in the car from a cold start. I do remember the Bridgestone having good grip, just everything else was bad lol

Oh no, I did some driving around before doing this. Drove about 5 miles on the freeway and another 10 miles on the street, total about 30-40 mins.
