Default Could somebody measure their driver's windscreen wiper?

Could somebody please measure their driver's windscreen wiper? I'm having issues with it dragging down in the corner and am investigating the theory that my wiper blade is longer than stock. Thanks!

I think the rubber blade part numbers are: 85214-33180 and 85214-52110.

Thanks! I have the correct size but it's an auto parts store arm, I might try a new genuine arm and rubber and see how it goes. Now to find the RHD equivalent part!

I have found that aftermarket windshield wiper arms and blades are never as good as original equipment. The OE rubber blades quality are the best, longest lasting, I have ever seen.

Yeah I tried the Bosch Icons back in my 2014 GS and it was bad, ended up going back to the OEM rubbers and arms.

My 2019 is one year old now and the wipers are still good. Usually I'd have to replace the rubbers every year.

Just called the dealer, they want $242 (150USD) to go back to OEM rubber. Does that seem excessive?

yes. does that include labor or something? the arm and rubber combo shouldn't be more than $20-25 each....so maybe $50 total for parts.

Supply only, although labour would be all of 2 minutes. The joy of owning a Lexus
I might see what the UK suppliers have, trouble is I haven't come across any RHD part nos.

I know the arm is expensive but the rubber only cost like $15 for one.

I don't think that's excessive. Can you do the buy the parts yourself and save some money by doing the install yourself (not hard)? Sure, but aren't Lexus (OEM) parts there considerably more in Australia? I know you pay more than 2X for your Lexus vehicles there.

Considering the OEM right hand arm + rubber cost around $85 USD here in the U.S., they are charging you around $65 USD for labor, which means about 1/3 of an hour since Lexus dealership labor rates are around $200 per hour.

As you know, dealerships charge a flat rate regardless of how much the actual service takes to perform (i.e. if their computer system says 0.5 hours of labor and it takes them 5 minutes, they will still charge you $100 for labor).

Being in Australia, you drive on the left side of the road and car's have the driver's wheel on the right hand side, so I'm not sure if these are the exact parts you'll need -- most likely the North American LHD parts?

Right hand (Passenger Side) - ARM (85211-21040) ~ $75: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...211-21040.html
Right hand (Passenger Side) - RUBBER (85214-33180) - $7: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...214-33180.html

Left hand (Driver's Side) - ARM (85221-21040) ~ $55: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...221-21040.html
Left hand (Driver's Side) - RUBBER (85214-30400) - $7: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...214-30400.html

I think @bclexus had already given you to the windshield wiper rubber part numbers above.

I am not sure what part websites/shops you use in Australia, but you may be able to find the equivalent Toyota parts there cheaper since shipping from U.S. based websites will cost a lot.

Regards,

I appreciate your extensive post. I may have mixed up my terminology, I don't require a new 'arm' as such, just the blade and the rubber. I don't have any reason to think it's not got it's original arm, I'm just hoping a genuine blade may glide better.
I'm thinking that RHD and LHD parts are different, after going through some of the parts you and BC listed I've come up with the correct RHD ones - who's to say whether they are really different haha?
Front right wiper 85212-30470 rubber 85214-52110(same as BC's pn), Denso part DUR-065R. The Denso part no links to the OEM numbers so I'll buy that as I'm assuming that's OEM anyways!

LHD RHD rubber blades are exactly the same, just our LDH will have the longer blade on the opposite side of your RHD.

The rubber certainly is the same but the blade itself has a different designation. Mine takes a DUR-065R and DUR-045R, yours takes a....wait for it....DUR-065L and DUR-045L
That's according to Denso's catalogue, given the wipers arm location and direction is reversed, so would the way they clip on? I wouldn't have even thought that they'd be different a week ago.
