Did they take a break when the 3GS stopped production last time? I thought they skipped 2012 GS right and jumped to 2013 4GS right?

Last model for 3GS is 2011 right?

Technically for model years I believe that's correct but I also believe the 4th gen had been announced in around 2011ish??? I keep holding out hope for something like that but I also realize that todays announcement makes that very unlikely...

I'm not ready to say that! I'm still in mourning.....ask me in August. I think we need to plan a group moment of silence at a specific time on a specific day.

I wouldn't say that! It won't surprise me to see a 5th Gen GS come out in 2022.

Odd that the US release of the Black Line had no mention of ceased production on the US site.

Holy r/whoosh...I already stated it's not happening for a long time (if ever), per the same set of people who said GS production was ending to me 2 years ago. I have been proven correct.

Cars are not developed at the eleventh hour, as designs are developed years in advance. We would know something by now if it was coming.

These photos of mine from earlier in 2009 of a GS clay model before Spindle Grille was incorporated, tell the story. We already heard news about 4GS in 2008-09 and it paralleled internal movements. Reveal was August 2011, Job 1 in December 2011 and release in February 2012.

The next GS was supposed to go on sale around June 2019 as a 2020 model and design freeze was set for October 2016. That's final look being finalized 32 months before hitting showrooms. Positive news was consistent until December 2016.

Akio Toyoda vetoed it at that point and shifted anything developed onto 2021 Mirai. We are 32 months from end of 2022 and nothing has been heard internally outside of cancellation.

I think I need to find a therapist after hearing this terrible news.

I'm still in the market for a 2015 GS, pre-refresh, pre-suspension overhaul.

It would be nice if the GS never comes back and my car eventually appreciates in value. I'm keeping her for the long term.

I think they only appreciate in value if they're "original" which I would take to mean that since yours is one of a kind it's already priceless

I'm on board with keeping them for a long time.....my Infiniti turned 20 last September and she's been mine for 17 of those years....

I'm not unhappy, at least my 8 year old GS will age a little slower!
It's not surprising with the 3GS finishing up in 2011 and the 4GS going into production in December 2011 for the 2012 year. If there was anything in the pipeline we'd have heard long by now

Lexus shot itself in the foot when they decided to sell ES and GS together.. The end result, the cheaper one survives and the car worth buying gets canceled.
