Default Brake pads and rotors recommendation

Hey all,

I have 2015 GS350 F -SPORT AWD. So I'll probably have to do a brake pad and rotor change soon as I have 60,000kms(37,000miles) on the current one and I am starting to experience grinding noises when braking . I've read some of the other threads and it seems that some of you have opted to go for the non-f sport brake pad combo which has lead some to success with eliminating brake squealing and I suppose lasts longer. I would like anyone's input that has already tried going the non-f sport route. Seems a bit early to have to change the pads but for the last 10k miles or so I have been braking aggressively so that perhaps explains the need to change it early.

Are the non-f sport pads compatible with the front and back for the AWD or is just the front's ?

It should be if your car is RWD. Not sure if it is the same for AWD.

I am assuming you brought your own pads and rotors. What did that include?

On AWD models of the GS, the brake and rotors are the same. OEM AWD brakes and rotors fit any AWD base/AWD premium/AWD lux/ AWD f-sport model. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...s-base-gs.html

Here is a parts list that will help you from my order last year from SSL-Parts.com:

Rear Rotors/Pads:

Front Rotors/Pads:

It looks like the last brake job the parts used were for the pads :

04465-30510 & 04466-30312

for the rotors:

43516-30040, 43512-30350

I assume the parts above are what they use for the F-sports and what you listed is the non-f sport? Do you have an AWD and have tried this setup with success in eliminating brake noise ?

Thanks for your help

@gs350lex Correct ...I have a non F sport which never had any brake squealing issues. Only OEM pads and rotors have been used on my car by both the previous owner and myself. The part numbers I mentioned are for any non F-sport 4GS and are the ones used on my '13.

I have a 2016 GS-350 F-Sport with 28K miles and with my windows open I can hear noise when I brake. So I know I need to bring it to service place or dealer . I'm new to S. Florida and got wipers an oil change from Toyota dealer of Hollywood because it was much cheaper but the wipers were Toyota brand and kind of suck. Oil change was fine afaik.

Now I am assuming I need brakes but I do not know. I need to get it checked.

Wondering if I should go back to Toyota dealer (20 minutes). JM Lexus (I think the largest in the country), Lexus of Pembroke Pines and Lexus of N. Miami or about 30 minutes away from me. I feel like the dealers here are a lot more expensive than when I was in Atlanta. Will both Toyota and Lexus offer loaner cars?

I will not doubt you there. As far as loaners are concerned, I do believe you will get one form Lexus. Maybe get a referral from a member here for an independent shop rather than get take a chance and get shafted at the dealer? I'm surprised the Toyota service didn't perform a multi-point check and advise you about your brakes. Maybe you don't need a brake job? My understanding is that it costs a small fortune to replace pads and rotors on either axle. Maybe another member who got it done can chime in... ?

I know this is old, but you say the brakes are the same across all AWD models. You have rear brakes pictured below. Is this also true for the front rotors and pads? (OEM)
