I almost died from Covid. I spent 2 weeks in the ER. I'm in Michigan. I have a wife and 3 kids. It was the most painful, torturous experience of my entire life. Pure satanic hell. I assure you, if you catch Corona you will IMMEDIATELY wish you had been more cautious. I survived, but left ER with about 25% lung capacity. It took me about 40 days to get my lungs back.

Not diminishing that experience, but washing your car alone in your own driveway doesn't put you at risk.

Mind if I ask how you caught it in the first place? Were you staying at home and being cautious (i.e. wearing a mask when going out in public)?

Not hating, just curious to learn.

If he was in the hospital for two weeks and it took 40 days to recover, he got it before the US began advising caution.

I'm glad you fought through it! I live with in laws who have underlying medical conditions. I probably would survive it but I'm more worried for them if anything. Like others might say, you probably contracted the virus way before they announced it. Matter of fact, I had similar symptoms back in early January. Fever first following with a horrible cough that lasted about 3 weeks. I didn't know what it was but it was really bad. Maybe I did have it....

Not a political debate but the US had it way before our government started "advising caution."

It's "low-risk" and not "no risk."

All bets are off the table as soon as we leave our structure or bring things into the house. In his example, an infected pedestrian could happen to walk by and cough next to him while he's washing his machine. Not likely to happen but is entirely possible.

Guys, this Covid-19 is serious stuff. Just be glad your guard isn't elevated because you didn't have to deal with it.

If you're concerned about the risk, then don't do it. But yes, you certainly are ALLOWED to do it.

I live in Silicon Valley; the 6 Bay Area were 1st to shut down. CA did soon after and then much of the nation.
As others have said, stay clear of other people and enjoy the sunshine warshing your car.
I warshed 3 the other day; later I lent my neighbor the stuff and helped him.
Then we spray waxed his new Lexus NX Hybrid with some Griots.
I can tell you Don has probably never warshed a car in his life.
He enjoyed it.

As others have said, stay safe. Listen to the science.

Very well said! I couldn’t agree with you more and thank you for your statement.

Wow is all I can say. People worried about going outside to wash their cars. I live in Orlando, FL and we closed our community near end of March. Well we used a small lock and chain around the entrance gate. Freaking people cut it, so they could layout and/or swim. There was even a large sign that said pool closed until further notice. Some people take this seriously and then there are others who don’t give a damn. Nothing we can do.
