Shelter in place...home car wash question
#16
I almost died from Covid. I spent 2 weeks in the ER. I'm in Michigan. I have a wife and 3 kids. It was the most painful, torturous experience of my entire life. Pure satanic hell. I assure you, if you catch Corona you will IMMEDIATELY wish you had been more cautious. I survived, but left ER with about 25% lung capacity. It took me about 40 days to get my lungs back.

Not diminishing that experience, but washing your car alone in your own driveway doesn't put you at risk.

Not hating, just curious to learn.

All bets are off the table as soon as we leave our structure or bring things into the house. In his example, an infected pedestrian could happen to walk by and cough next to him while he's washing his machine. Not likely to happen but is entirely possible.
Guys, this Covid-19 is serious stuff. Just be glad your guard isn't elevated because you didn't have to deal with it.

If you're concerned about the risk, then don't do it. But yes, you certainly are ALLOWED to do it.

I live in Silicon Valley; the 6 Bay Area were 1st to shut down. CA did soon after and then much of the nation.
As others have said, stay clear of other people and enjoy the sunshine warshing your car.
I warshed 3 the other day; later I lent my neighbor the stuff and helped him.
Then we spray waxed his new Lexus NX Hybrid with some Griots.
I can tell you Don has probably never warshed a car in his life.
He enjoyed it.
As others have said, stay safe. Listen to the science.

Its not being paranoid. Some of us have actually lost or know of people who past from Covid-19. I don’t really care if I catch it, I am young and healthy for the most part. But if I get infected, I sure do not want to spread it to other innocent people who may not be young and spry as I am. We are all in this together. What we do as an individual may have an effect on others. It’s not just about ourself.

Wow is all I can say. People worried about going outside to wash their cars. I live in Orlando, FL and we closed our community near end of March. Well we used a small lock and chain around the entrance gate. Freaking people cut it, so they could layout and/or swim. There was even a large sign that said pool closed until further notice. Some people take this seriously and then there are others who don’t give a damn. Nothing we can do.
