Slotted Sport Rotors ideas
I'm looking to replace my stock rotors with drilled and slotted ones for a more sporty look. I'm going to get my calipers painted as well. Does anyone have any recommendations that they have used before? 2014 GS350

Ah ok, I'm a Newbie when it comes to this, I'm assuming what you are saying is these brakes tend to have noise issues, is that all of them or just the cheaper brands? What do you recommend to get a sporty look if not slotted rotors? My current stock one have rust on the and look bad.

I have StopTech slotted & drilled rotors. They squeal like crazy. Don't do it. Stick with OEM pads and rotors.

Keep your factory rotors and pads, and paint the calipers.
Silver, burnt copper, red, black look best.
LOTS of threads and photos have been posted.
Brush on is easiest but results often leave much to be desired.
Masking and spray in place is a good compromise but risky.
Removing, masking, and spraying gives best results but takes the most time.
VHT and Duplicolor paints are good.

On my non F-Sport GS, on my rear rotors I used ATE Slotted rotors with OEM Lexus brake pads with no squealing or performance issues.
You can see how clean they looked on my post here when it was brand new: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ml#post9558362
They were rusted after about 2 weeks and you could barely make out the slotted lines in the metal. If I did it over again, i'd just get OEM rotors (which will also rust just as bad) since the price difference wasn't that significant.

Just use something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It will stop/turn the rust black.

The Akebonos should be fine. I've run them on a lot of cars with zero issues (usually a lot less dust than stock Toyo pads)
For the OP- the painted calipers will attract any attention away from the rotors and make the overall wheel area look a lot better. If your rotors are rusted on the inner area, get new (good) rotors that have the inside pre-coated. The time it will take to refinish and then paint your current rotors wouldn't be worth it compared to buying new rotors. Rust on the outer lip is inevitable regardless if they are slotted, drilled, etc.

I must have been fortunate, because I didn't experience any brake squeal at all with aftermarket rotors and tried to create the brake squeal by slamming on the brakes.. Never happened and the car is on 20x10/11 wheels. Only time there was ever an issue is after a car wash and there is leftover water residue on the rotors. Calipers were originally painted yellow and later refinished in a powder coat candy raspberry and also rebuilt with new seals with the oem caliper repair kit. Here is the setup all purchased from Skylar at Wheelwell:
- Stoptech Front Drilled/Slotted Rotors
- Rear pads are OEM and still have quite a bit of life left.
- Motul Dot 3 & 4 Brake Fluid
- Stoptech Front Drilled/Slotted Rotors
- Front Left 127.44204L
- Front Right 127.44205R
- Right Rear 127.44189R
- Left Rear 127.44189L
- Front 950.44003
- Rear 950.44504
