Audio Amplifier is not working - Advice
Hello there,
I have an issue with my GS350 2015.
Whenever I play music the sound cuts off regularly without any notice. So after reading online I found that the problem might be from the amplifier. So I opened the car's trunk and after doing some digging I have found that the amplifier is too hot to touch. I've checked the connections behind the audio player and they all seemed to be perfectly fine.
Can I know whats the issue? can anyone help me. I’m not an expert myself and I’m really finding it difficult to understand or find the issue.
Here is the VIN for the car: JTHCE1BL0E5025808
PS: I bought the car outside the US after it being auctioned and sold. The car is registered as salvage but after fixing it. It works perfectly fine!
Best regards,
Nameer

It's hard to say, but if the amp is too hot to touch, it may indicate a failing component.
Why it cuts out could be due to the failing component or a thermo shutdown circuit.
Do you have the ML amp or the regular one?
I have never taken a 4GS amp apart, but the ML amp in my 2GS had a cooling fan that I replaced.
I cannot tell if either 4GS amp has a fan, though it doesn't appear so.

If you need a mark levinson amp, I have one for sale, $499:

The amp doesn't have a cooling fan, but it's located near a pressure vent
