I have it on mine, it came with it and listed as a port installed option. Never tested it though but it should make the alarm go off when someone breaks in.
Car thieves don't need to break windows to get in anymore... you can get the electronic tools to steal the proximity key code from Ebay for a few hundred $.
Allegedly my car has it. I found all the documentation for it in the trunk. In the documentation it says you can test the feature by locking the car and tapping really hard on the driver's window with the metal end of a key.
I tried tapping harder and harder to the point I was worried I'd break the glass, way beyond what I'd consider normal... was very uncomfortable. The alarm didn't go off once. So I really don't know how well this feature works, if it works at all.

My front glass would be harder to break since it's acoustic(two layers of glass with material sandwiched in between). The rear glass on the other hand would just shatter. There is nothing in the car and even if there was you could not see it because of the tint.
Only point of breaking in is to steal the entire car. if there are sophisticated enough they can do that or just tow the car away.
My GS did not come equipped with the GBS standard so I purposely bought the kit and installed it. If I can get some added protection for my investment for less than $150... why not? Never needed it, but nice to know it was there just in case.

Interesting, it's just a microphone listing for the sound of glass breaking.
The Glass Breakage Sensor (Gbs) Uses a Highly Sensitive Microphone That Can Detect The Specific Frequencies of Glass Being Struck Or Broken
In The Event Glass Breakage is Detected By The Gbs, The Vehicle Security System Will Be Activated Immediately
The Gbs is Capable of Ignoring Noises Other Than Those Associated With Glass, Helping Ensure Customers Aren't Inconvenienced By False Alarms.
