My moonroof stopped working all together today. Pressing either open or tilt buttons resulted in no function & no sounds of the motor, just the plastic click of the buttons themselves. I turned the car off and on and still nothing. (I have not disconnected the battery recently and it worked fine 2 days ago before I tried using it again today.)
Just earlier tonight I went out to try again and see what would happen. The tilt button now worked however it was tilting AND opening the window fully when I held it down!!! The open button now worked too and tilted the window a little then began opening it. The moonroof kept opening past the close position with both buttons as well as I had to manually hold the button to what I think & hope is the closed position.
I've always heard excessive wind noise from the moonroof while it was closed, dealt with some moonroof rattling and once saw water coming in while going through a dreaded car wash!
I just moved and my nearest dealership is 3 1/2 hours away. Does anyone have any input on this situation before I drive for half of a day? (And I know I should move closer to a dealer!)
Thanks.
