And Lexus did a great job with the sound generator, pumping in real and not artificial engine noise. The sound really comes in above 3K, so if you’re not driving hard the cabin is still quiet.

2GR makes you work for the power, it builds, it’s what I love about N/A engines with power at the top, they’re quiet and modest unless you work for it. For a sports sedan you want to drive hard and hear, top end is just so much better. Low end torque is good for stoplight to stoplight, lol.

I had the '01 E38 740i Sport with shorter gearing so therefore a little bit quicker, and I never experienced running out of steam below 110 mph. But I'm embarrassed to say I rarely touch 90 with my '15 F Sport. Guess I got old.

That's what I said in In July 2020. It's still true. I hate to think what I would have spent and suffered to keep the E38 going once I retired it in favor of the GS350 4 years ago. Probably around $12K(not including tires) compared to $2K with Lexus. No wonder I don't see any E38's or E39's on the road anymore, as sweet as they were.

I have had over 30 bmws. From 2002 to m3. All i can say is they are fun till they break. Do your research. When the vanos system gets noisy grab your checkbook and bend over. This is a well known problem. Not if but when. My grandson who is 21 has sucessfulky fixed the vanos on his car. Spacial tools required and $$. The only bmw I really liked was the 2002. Been buying toyota and lexus because of reliability.

Wow over 30 BMWs. Do you trade them in every 6 months?

I am just old. If I had some of the cars I have sold in the past I would be a multi millionaire. Would love to have another bmw 2002 but the prices are crazy. However at my age the GS is perfect.
