Mine is the same. Every Toyota I've had has been off about the same. I usually go about 50 miles on a full tank before the gauge hits the full line and I get an a low fuel warning at an 1/8th of a tank.

On my 2016 GS350 the low fuel warning comes on at 20 miles range left BUT that range isn't what it appears to be in my opinion. On my previous cars the low fuel came on when the tank was lower - say about 2 gallons roughly.
They seem to be conservative on this car - my guess is there's more like 3 gallons +/- left. There's been one occasion where I went ten miles past 0 (so -10) and the tank still had I think roughly a gallon in it if I remember correctly.
PS - I wouldn't recommend doing this though...since I didn't quite know this car I was stressing a bit.

My gauge is definitely below a 1/4 when the light comes on but I don't know that I'd say it's at 1/8th. I just looked and the time I went -10 past on the range the car took 16.114 gallons. With the tank holding 17.5 and my usual mileage (mid 16s) that would mean I still had roughly another 23 miles (although I'd never want to push it that close).
