The same oil in my Toyota V8 has gone 12k miles easily, but asking 7,500 from the same oil in my Nissan 3.5 VQ was asking a lot.
In my vehicles and with the way I drive, my oil has always been good to go for 12 months...even the M3!!!

I dont think everyone wants that risk..... changing at 10k with cheap filters is already kinda pushing it going more then that i wouldn't do it coz i keep my cars for long time and usually till 200k+ miles, my gx470 has 300k right now and i use synthetic blend every 5k miles and it only costs $37 dollars so i doubt im wasting much money and it gives me peace of mind which is worth a lil bit $$$ lol

GX470 with 300K? Perfect... check this out... perfectly relevant to you... my Sequoia with the same engine and 338K... just received my oil analysis today via email.

The most recent sample was in there for 15 months, the 2nd to last sample was in use for 13 months. I changed based on time but I've since learnt that time is not a big deal. And I'm not using full synth but a blend. I even mixed 2 different viscousities I had laying about the garage... no problemo. I had 2 intervals over 10K but I lost those UOAs when I failed to transfer all my files from an older PC.

Wow that's impressive the 470 motor is a beast i like it more then the newer one thats in my gx460

460 has more power but 470 seems smoother

man that results is impressive thanks for sharing your test Results, I do have 08 gs350 with 113mi I just bought like 2 month ago im very confused which brand oil to use? My engine cap says 5w30 , but some says use 10w30 since it’s high mileage I’m not sure it’s true or not? Also should I go fully synthetic or synthetic blend ? Castrol gtx high Mileage or Castrol egde high mileage ? Thanks in advanced 👍🏼

If your car is not leaking oil then just stick with a good synthetic 5w30. If it was my car it would get Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 or Mobil 1 EP 5w30 and change it out once a year or 10,000 miles whichever came first! If you want to use high mileage oil then that is fine also. Valvoline MaxLife 5w30 HM would be great oil for your car!

I don’t have external leak or oil consumption, but I do get some white puff smoke usually after my engine warms up at the start up sometime it shows up sometimes not so I’m assuming That I might have an internal leak or something?? , Not sure this is due to bad valve stem seals or pistons rings! The car performance is very good the mpg is good as well the engine at idle is good at 700rpm no shaking or no noise, coolant level is good , that’s why I took the hm route so in case it can help or something!!! Thanks for you feedback brother

Keep an eye on your coolant and see if the overflow reservoir's coolant level is going down on not. White smoke signifies coolant or water getting into your combustion chamber. If you want you can do an oil analysis and that can tell you if there is coolant/water in your oil or not.

I do 5K or 1 year oil change intervals. Cheap insurance and best insurance. Dealers oftentimes use bulk 0w20 synthetic oil.

I dont like running the car at 10k intervals b4 oil changes will i be wasting money doing full synthetic oil changes? Or synthetic blend be fine ? I always change oil around 5k miles on my cars and also i think the 2013 gs350 maintenance light comes on every 5k mile interval aswell like my gx470

i dont do my own oil changes, shop i use is about $80 full synthetic and abt $38 for synthetic blend so should i do full synthetic or blend ? Its a 2013 gs 350 awd v6
Go by the Owners Manual's recommendation, which is 0W-20. Throw a dart or flip a coin to decide which brand of 0W-20 engine oil to choose...or have your Lexus dealer's service department change the oil and filter.
