Hello my Lexus fam, this morning I was in a parking garage where the lighting is somewhat minimal and it showed what looks like a gap between my rear diffuser and bumper. I tried to press it up to see if there was a clip that got loose. I haven't been rear ended or at least I know. Question, is the diffuser suppose to be flushed against the bumper or is this normal? Pic below: Appreciate it!
A better pic would def help but it should be flush with no gap at all. It looks like yours is a bit off. Here are a few examples of how it should look (the last one is a fellow clublexus member who painted his rear diffuser to match):
AJLex, your second pic looks flush. Mine does not look like that. Let me repost the same pic for better view. How do I fix this? I tried pushing it back into place hoping it would snap into place but no luck.
I'm not entirely sure how to fix it except that it looks like someone may have tapped the bumper/diffuser or somehow you may have lost a few clips/retainers...see this post on diffuser details:
Personally, i'd take it to a trusted local body shop to see if they can shed some light. There are some DIY bumper removal threads here as well if you're feeling adventurous and want to go the DIY route.
You probably backed into a something. It’s too low to be from getting rear ended. They would have hit the painted part of your bumper, and left damage. There are a bunch of clips that hold it in place. Easiest way to reinstall/access that is to take the bumper off.

I probably did back up into something, not sure but I'm thinking of taking off the bumper this weekend. I know there are two 10mm bolts when you open your trunk behind a plastic cover on each side. Are there any other 10mm bolts I should be looking out for? Not worried about the clips, I can see those. I tried finding DIY videos on youtube but only found "How to remove the IS 350 bumper" not sure if its pretty much the same way.
