Hi guys,

I noticed that my passenger side headlight has some moisture in them. Did a visual inspection along with touching the headlight for any cracks but didn't find any. I read that it could be bad sealant, ventilation, or damaged assembly. Are there any potential solutions beside getting a replacement?

Have you replaced your headlight bulbs recently? I think first course of action is to remove the headlight assembly and give it a good look over. Check to see if headlight bulb is seated properly, check for any cracks/damage and if I'm not mistaken their may be a vent to allow for moisture to vent out..check to see if it's clogged or not.

Hi Niral,

I never touched the headlight or worked on this 2013 GS since its my first car. Any DIY guides you'd recommend for taking the headlight out? Seems like most of the videos on YT requires the whole bumper to be removed and I'm a newbie at best or clueless at worst.

Was it involved in any accidents, even a minor impact to the front can break the tabs and cause condensation. Did you have the GS from new?

I'm the third owner so don't have all the history. I'm guessing street parking doesn't help either since others could nudge here and there. When you say tabs, is that accessible without removing the bumper? Would you mind providing a visual?

Just an update - the moisture dried up / evaporated not sure if that's normal in any way...

If it went away, that's good. It could have been a perfect combination of temperature and humidity changes.

I've had good luck just removing a bulb from the assembly and leaving it open for a day or two until the moisture dissipates, then reinserting the bulb.

Just curious if anyone knows where the vent is located on the headlight assembly? The moisture seem to come back every time after I drive the car and park it there. Maybe its time to get a used replacement?

The headlight is completely sealed. Yours should have a crack or headlight bulbs/ballast is not full seated/sealed, or something to allow this to happen.

I would check the ballast cover, turn signal cover on the back of the headlight first maybe it’s not on all the way. That’s the only other opening other than the housing being damaged for air/moisture to get in.
