Thanks a lot @MOB561 and @lexus4jess ! The confirmation of plug and play with ECU controller and tech stream initialization has brought back my interest in getting these for my 2016.

Now on the lookout for the two head lights, 81145-30L21 (passenger right side) and 81185-30L21 (driver left side)

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your headlights Jess?

I have always wondered if the triple beam LEDs throw light significantly further than the base single LED projectors. I wish I had adaptive headlights, as I drive on a lot of winding, unlit mountain roads, but I have no issue with the light output of my base headlights, now that they have been properly aimed/leveled.

To me they the same light output. Triple beams make the car look more aggressive.

I am considering this mod and am looking for some clarification on the process for my 2016.

Are the steps below accurate?

1. Buy the headlamps

2. Buy the triple beam headlamp controller ECUs:

81056-30L20 Controller left side, Led, 2016-20, with triple-beam. Led, 2016-18, with triple-beam.
81016-30L20 Controller right side, Led, 2016-20, with triple-beam. Led, 2016-18, with triple-beam.

3. Remove the bumper and install the new headlamps and controllers.

4. Use Techstream to initialize the new headlamp controllers.

Any other stetps?

For #1: 81145-30L21 (passenger right side) and 81185-30L21 (driver left side) were listed above as the parts. Those are coming to about $2,400 each from the dealer sites.

I also found 81170-30L50 (LEFT) and 81130-30L50 (RIGHT) that are GS-F Korea Spec, for about $1,000 cheaper. Any idea if these will work?

For #3 - Where are the controllers located and installed?

For #4 - Any additional insight into the Techstream initialization process?

Nope. Good luck on finding your head lights.I got mine from ebay. ECU's where brand new from a Lexus Dealer.

It seems the black module is the new part I'll need specific to the triple beams. Is the silver one transferred from my current headlamp?

Did you do the swap or have someone else do it?

I did the swap. your head light will just have one ECU. Just the black one.
