Another thing I noticed that the '15 has that the newer GS doesn't is plastic covers over the inside door lock hardware. A few members here have bought aftermarket ones. I was looking to get a pair until I looked at my B Pillar and saw I already have those from the factory. I think Lexus was trying to impress people when the GS first came out and then the bean counters took over. Also my car has acoustic glass in the front doors and the foam liners in the door storage and door handle .

This practice seems to be quite common.

First few years of a new generation model comes out with all the bells and whistles.

Then, a mid-generation "refresh" usually adds some marketable cosmetic or powertrain upgrades. But then at the same time, it's common to also remove some of the most user friendly/convenience features that were on the earlier years to save cost.

Beware... if you race your GS against JDR, you're gonna lose because he has less weight than you. He totally has an unfair advantage.

this was on my car stock. I think the newer GS cars don’t have it on, not that it’s a big deal. Just interesting that Lexus would remove it. Seems there is a market for the 4.5GS to have someone add in all the stuff they took out, not that it’s a big deal , other than the acoustic glass in the front doors.

Well they did lower the 4.5GS MSRP a bit compared to the 4GS.

also the F-sport badge on the steering wheel is different between 19 and pre-19 model.
the earlier model's f-sport badge have a layer of clear Acrylic on its top(just like the GSF's steering badge)
and the 19 model they don't have that layer

So my 2013 GS 450h may not have those power folding mirrors or trunk things, but I have the bag holder, battery terminal cover, and apparently door jam covers. Na na na na na! Amusing thread gents.
