You're referring to the cold cranking amps, which is typically 500-800. The amp hour (usage) rating of the battery refers to it's storage capacity. My battery is 650CCA and is 75AH - I could pull 3.25amps per hour for 20 hours.

Which is why in the past, leaving lights on can easily run a battery dead. If you left on your driving lights (2x 55w) with interior bulbs or fogs on (4x 12w/2x 25) the battery would be dead in 6 hours.

Irrelevant though, as NP said the outlet is switched with ignition.
