Default Exhuast upgrade

hey guys.

with the car fully paid off, im thinking about doing some upgrade on it.

I'm looking for a new exhaust and an intake to make air a little louder.

what do you guys run for the set up? invidia? apex?

Im looking for something with a deeper tone.

thanks

Don't do it. The drone will drive you insane. IMO, it's a Lexus leave it nice and quiet. I regret doing JoeZ on mine. All exhausts will drone a bit on this car.

Pass on the exhaust, but the intake makes a nice growl when stepping on it. I'm with JP, don't do the exhaust!

I second that. I got the Borla S Type Axle back a couple of months ago on my 2016 AWD GS. It sounds reasonably aggressive on heavy throttle. Otherwise, its as quiet as the OEM.

I got Borla installed for about 2 years and its got a little of the "bur bur bur" sound (drone?) when cars at like 2-3k RPM. I like the sound tbh but for some it might be not feel as luxurious.

I found an Invidia cat-back system for $500.
I drove 4 hours to go get it because it was a good deal.

Impression:
Man, why didn't I do this when I first got the car?

+1 on the Borla axle back
I just installed it a few weeks back and so far it gives the car a nice deep tone but doesn't sound ricey. lol Also I am not hearing any drone from it either.

What I'm gathering is:
  • you'll probably get drone if you change out the mid pipe and the axle-backs
  • you won't get drone if you only change out the axle-backs.
  • the full joe-z cat-back sounds great but drones

I love my Tanabe exhaust with no droning. Sounds great when you get on it and civilized when around town.

It has since gotten deeper as expected with any exhaust overtime.

I second the Takeda intake and Borla axle back! I’ve had that for a while and it’s the perfect compromise for what you want.
