Deleted as I misunderstood the original question.

I don't think you can't open the pass through from inside the trunk.

Yep, you can't go in from the trunk. Had to call a locksmith. Used a little pump up bladder in the front passenger door to open it a little, slid in a grabbing tool, opened in less than 2 minutes. Will be going back to Lexus since they must have screwed up the manual unlock when they replaced the actuator.
Thanks all

With that tool you can break into any car and not set the alarm off.

Does that bend the top of the door frame outward? I watched a youtube video and it slightly bent the door frame. Then the guy just opened it put his knee on the edge of the door, grabbed top of the door and bent it back.

Check the top edge of the door if it sits plush with the b-pillar or stick out a little.

I cant remember off the top of my head, but dont' cars have to have a interior pull handle for trunk release for safety reasons? Maybe you can just pull that?

That is just so if you're locked in trunk you can open the trunk from inside. Wouldn't help getting into car.

Dealer should pay for this.

When I bought mine, I found the mechanical key did not work, and there was a service record for the driver door lock actuator, which means they didn't reinstall the manual key link correctly.

Behind the physical key is a shaft with a cross fitting at the end that must be carefully fitted into the cross socket on the lock mechanism. It's easy to miss, easy to get wrong, unless you test.

I had this done on my previous car (Acura TSX) and yes it did bend the door frame ever so slightly. The door never sat flush again. It wasn't enough to cause any leaking or additional noise, but definitely was visibly off.

Random question....

My 2014 GS350 doesn't have a key hole anywhere... how do I get in it if the battery dies?

Never thought about this.

If you don't have it on the driver door handle, previous owner must have bought the cover from the passenger side and replaced the driver side that originally had the key hole. I bet the original key slot is still there under the cover. This is a dumb cosmetic mod because when the battery dies you won't be able to open the car if it's locked.

The trunk one is actually under the lip of the trunk above the license plate. You're gonna have to peek up under where the lights for the license plate are and its on the left side of that area.

As for the door the driver door has a key lock.

Default Had this happen to me today

Unfortunately had this happen to me today. Completely dead battery. Mechanical was not working on driver door but was working on trunk. I had replaced the actuator on the drivers side door myself about a year ago so I’m assuming I had messed something up myself when I did that in regards to the mechanical door opening.

Ended up needing to get a locksmith to use the air bladder to get into the car. Luckily the door doesn’t seem to be too bent out of wack. Don’t hear any air leaking through and weather stripping seems intact.

anyone have a diagram or video on how the manual key locking mechanism hooks up to the actuator?
