Question about shield behind rims/rotas.
Sorry if this question was asked before, mods feel free to merge and link me the relative thread if you do.
Question about the front shields behind rims/rotas, everytime I turn left or right that grinding sound coming from the shield rubbing on the rims and sometimes worrings.
I went to my mechanic and he bent the shield and the problem still exist. I did this many times but the problem refuse to go away.
Is still something I need to worry about or if I do, how can I fix this?
I have the GS350 F-Sport (2013).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The noise from the rear sun visor is also annoying !!!!!
Also, I have 4 original Lexus GS rims WITH tires 19" (Vezda Touring A/S brand) for sale for $1,000 for the set. Link me if you are interested.

So this begs the question: are you guys sure that's the issue?

Have somebody drive the cars slowly, turn, and walk next to it to figure out where it's coming from.

When was the last time you changed the brake pads? Low pads often produce a grinding sound or squeal when turning, especially at low speeds.

If a dust shield is bent, it will make noise regardless of wheel direction. You'd hear it the second you backed out of your garage.
Sounds like you have aftermarket wheels/tires if you're selling stocks. Probably just the tires rubbing on the fenders and/or liners.
Put your stocks back on to verify.

Actually you did state that the shields were the issue, and you asked how to fix it. So I agree... are you sure that's the issue?
It should be pretty simple for any mechanic to put on a lift and spin the wheels and turn the steering to check for rubbing... didn't he at least do that?

Even though the wheels are solid metal, they do flex. Perhaps it is the wheel sliding against the shield and it would normally be against the rotor. Now you have introduced a giant washer that impedes the solid contact.
Simple solution, take them out and see if it still does it. Divide and conquer.
If they are the problem, try scuffing the contact area up on the cover to get a less mobile fit. Perhaps even dimple them in several places where they sandwich between the wheel and rotor with a punch to get an interference fit.
I've never used them as I've always thought they looked like junk but to each their own.

Thank you for all the feedback guys. I'll take some advices and update you guys when I find the problem.
Btw, everything on the car is stock except for the rotors and the breaks are relatively new.

I know your problem is resolved. But for future FYI, dust shields are bendable so if the rub isn't severe, you should you able to bend the edges and shape it to not rub your wheels.
