2013 gs350 stereo
Want to see if anyone has similar issue and how was resolved. I have a 2013 gs350 with pioneer stereo. Last winter when very cold the am/fm would only work when the car ran for about 15 minutes. Would start with no sound but stereo would act as if everything fine just no sound in only am/fm. The satellite, Bluetooth, phone and cd functions would have sound abs function normal. Now this year if happened twice when got cold and has remained with no sound in am/fm only.
My question is if the amp was the issue wouldn’t all the functions not have sound? All fuses seem to be fine that I can find.

I have checked all the connections and all seem clean and good. There is no sound at all. Completely silent. I am wondering if the head unit is bad but know usually it is the amp

I might have an idea, but can you take a picture of your navigation screen? Is the section below where AM/FM blank? What does it show when you scroll to a different radio station? If you scroll to a HD radio station, I believe it pull in some information about the broadcast.

Notice the "KOOL-HD1" and all the information there.

Bump this thread
I have experienced the exact same symptoms as the OP. The am/fm goes silent and the bottom right side of radio screen screen does not show any channel info. The satellite and the Bluetooth produces sound, just not the am/fm. I pulled over and restarted the car and it worked. Did this twice within 30 minutes. The only thing that I noticed is that each time my wife had a rather cheap charging cord connected to the USB port in the armrest. Could that be the issue? OP did you ever resolve the issue. I'm worried that this will happen on a long commute or road trip.

I am 90% certain have figured out my issue. I had the radio to a repair shop and no issues. I purchase another head unit and no difference. I had my battery tested and was low. When I charge the battery it works fine for a few days. I have replaced the battery and now the new one is low as well.
Long story short the alternator is only charging with 13.7 Volts which I’m told is not enough to keep all electrical options in the car working. When not enough charge the car will shut things off. I am in the process of replacing the alternator and will let you know for sure this took care of the issue but I am fairly certain. Just FYI this has been going on for over a year and half primarily in cold weather.

In my case, all of the information was not showing below where it displays the actual station number because the ribbon cables within the unit got loose/did not connect properly.
Of course, this is because I was actually working on disassembly/reassembly of the radio unit. Check out my DIY here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...head-unit.html
If you can be sure that your unit hasn't been opened or if your car hasn't experienced any sort of accident, you can probably rule out my theory.
Hope that helps,
