The factory Toyota oil costs less than Mobile 1, Pennzoil, ect, it meets/exceeds all the standards of what the engine was designed for. You buy a car that was serviced at the dealership for piece of mind, guess what they use the factory Lexus/Toyota oil.
Geez some people spending $10 a quart gotta be out of their mind, just throwing money away. Any synthetic oil that meets the standard, changed every 10K miles or a year, is what our car needs. Real world difference from anything else is negligible, saying otherwise is snake oil salesman. I just stick with one brand and use Mobile 1 because I get a good price at walmart, but brand name doesn't really matter, most cases your just paying a premium for the name on the jug.

Is it 10k between maintenance required reminders?
On my wife's CT200, the oil looks so clear when I do oil changes.
On my GS, not as clear, but not dark.
I only use Mobil 1. If anyone had ever owned a GMC Acadia, conventional oils cook and turn close to black at regular maintenance intervals. Synthetics were the only oil to use in that beast.

I watched a YT video recently that showcased just how little oil is necessary to keep an engine running fairly smooth. I don't care to get into the debate about brand X vs brand Y, but just wanted to share this:

5S-FE in the Camry tends to have the balance shaft assembly blow up, looks like that what happening in that video. The same engine in the Celica didn't have the balance shafts and was more reliable.
