Ok, so dont need techstream to see the calibration ID (toyotas name for the firmware version)
mine is gs350 from 2017
connected from celphone from carista app. And confirmed my firmware version. By googling this ID the first thing that comes is the TSB, and then searched inside the TSB and it shows that it it matches and its to be updated to that new one.

Someone with a 2018-2020 can look in carista app>service> detailed ecu info to see if they have the new one already installed

Not sure why it doesn't show the 2020 model, unless it was updated with the latest already.

Excellent info. thanks

So yours is not updated? I also have a 2017, I did received the letter and I’m terrified that I would have to do this out of warranty.

It says calibration ID, not sure what that really do. Is a software up the answer in fixing the issue or it's a hardware issue.

My brother's Toyota also has this issue but no fix so he leaves it since it's expensive.

lexus dealer will update for free on monday,
“The 7 years free” period will expire for my car in march next year.
I just told them that “my right and left vent is blowing sometimes different temperatures when the temp is actually set the same” “can you do the ac update for free per tsb” and they said yes.

It's kind of funny. I was looking around to see if I could see my firmware version (mine is a 2018) and noticed I had two DTC for Air Conditioning (B1442, B1454).

I feel like this is the second time I've cleared servo codes but will have to keep more of an eye out. I don't notice issues with the AC.

In the tsb it says that when you have the updated firmware you can trigger a cycle throught techstream that takes like 15 minutes that greases the servomotors and it should help.

Went today and did the tsb: update ac firmware and they did the cycle for redistribute ac servo grease, asked them how much it would be if it was not covered and he said $205 , but on paper also said $165 he said it’s different price but l couldn’t hear maybe if you don’t want to do the grease redistibute thing.

Good to know. If they do work for Lexus it's at a lower claim cost, than a customer out of pocket.

I still don't understand the redistribute grease and how? Is there a lubrication tube with spare grease built in?

I would think that everyone should have this done as a preventative vs the problem.

In a tsb it mentions that this redistribute grease cycle takes like 14 minutes and it makes the motors go all the range , and it says normal to hear sounds like vibrate and stop so on.

this cycle I think can be triggered with the cheap cable through the techstream since its not a reprogramming procedure. But this option is only available on the updated AC firmware.

Ps Confirmed that its updated

Just figured out how to find the calibration ID (from System select -> ECU reprogramming). Seems I, with a 2018, have the old version. 886503AM1000 That would explain the random AC codes. And the stupid whistling noise from the air inlet servo.

Bummer.
