New Yokohama tires
I put a set of Yokohama YK740 GTX tires on my '17 GS350. The stock tires lasted 30,000 miles. This is my first Yokohama purchase. The folks at Discount Tire said they've had good customer experiences with them. Excellent reviews and decently priced. We'll see...

If these are the ones I'm thinking of, they're Discount exclusives. I put some on a 2007 Camry and they were horrible tires. I'm not sure if I got a particularly bad set but when I drove off from Discount it felt like the car was on loose roller skates. Changing lanes felt like I had four wheel steering and was a bit scary. I drove a few miles and checked the air and they had 41 lbs in them. I had not driven them long enough to get that hot so I don't know why they put that much air in them. Recommended pressure was something like 32. I lowered the air and that helped but they still drove like crap. I went a month or so with them and finally took them back and told them how bad they were and the replaced them under warranty for free and I think sent them back to Yokohama. I put Michelin Defender T+H on and I'd had Michelin MXV4s on before that, and both Michelins felt great. Again, maybe I had a bad batch, I don't know. Also, they were not the size you're putting on your GS if that matters.

I had Yokos many many years ago on a different car and they were hands down my most favorite tire ever. As others have said, they were wonderfully sticky, noise was decent until they got older (that car doesn't have great sound deadening so all tires tend to get noisy as they get older). These were directional tires and the only set of directionals I've ever had on a vehicle so that probably played into some of the handling characteristics.
Mileage wear on them wasn't great but wasn't horrible IMO - but I'm generally really good about rotating. I was worried that since they were directional and rotations were only front to back the wear might be really bad, but again, it wasn't but I was pretty religious about rotating every 7k.
The biggest thing I didn't like about them, and I think it was due to the directional nature, was how they could grab ruts. Here in Oregon lots of folks put on metal studded tires every year and many roads (including highways) have ruts. There were times those tires grabbed the ruts and would pull the car a little. I don't think that was the Yokos - I think any directional tire would have done that. They never did it before I moved here and it was specific sections of road usually. It was bad enough that I'd warn anyone who used the car (like family when they would visit) not to freak out if they felt the steering wheel pull.
