That sounds like the alignment CASTOR is not set within spec. Many shops don't check castor unless you ask. Or it could be a "pulling" tire or just 1 tire low on air pressure.

yes it does so i took mine back in because my car was lower on the rear left and they end up finding something with the steering. Something about mapping on the computer. I guess the ecu are not talking to each other right. They are trying different test to see why sometime it work and sometimes it doesnt. They have it for week now and are talking with techs from the factory. I'll keep you update on what they find

I've been having this same issue with my base model 15 where it's hard to drive straight on the highway and is very reactive to any kind of cross winds as well as drifting to the right. It's literally everything you mentioned and I'm very well educated and hands on with my vehicles for 20 years and just can't figure out what's going on. It feels like positive castor is the culprit since it has very little self steer but that's not the case. Any info you have found out would be great. Thanks 👍🏻

It sounds to me like you may have been driving on road surface that was not smooth, but had dips and depressions in it which oftentimes makes a car like the 4GS 350 with firm suspension feel like it's wobbling and wandering about left to right. Don't know how long you've owned the car but if you've had it very long I'm a bit surprised you haven't experienced it and learned that reaction of traveling on a non-smooth road surface is normal and moved on...

Some of you might have bent rims. Enough to make the rim oval but not obviously bent.

Depending on the miles and/or any other aftermarket suspension wheel tire Mods on it, or not. It's either the VGRS, or the Steering Rack systems.

Just putting it out there.....did you ever try to do road force balancing on the tires just to see if it shows anything unusual?

Default Reset

I had a similar problem on my 2012 F Sport (in America it’s the 2013 version)

Try this;

RESET/Calibrate VGRS + YAW RATE SENSOR
RESET/Calibrate LDH (Lexus Dynamic handling system) and afther you have done this get an alignment done.

Seriously, try this before you do anything else.

They (most lexus dealers) will probably tell you that the LDH can’t be calibrated but that is bull****. A 3rd party lexus specialist has done it to mine and now my car drives so much different. Let me know if this was the fix.

if anyone can find the culprit of this aggravating issue please let everyone know. Mine started about a year ago. Had both struts replace and had the differential seals resealed and I continue to get the free moving almost dart-like steering. It’s hard to explain unless you drive it;then you know something is not right.

Try replacing the LCA with the GSF model or aftermarket ones. They have stronger bushings and after replacing mine I noticed less side to side movement during highway speeds and it also stiffened up the front end a fair bit and it just drives straighter overall. I also have a strut bar which helps with the excessive body roll when turning which I didn't really like.

Did you do the work yourself? Would a mechanic install a LCA without it being OEM and provide a warranty (maybe even installation guarantee)?

I went to my mechanic but it’s a pretty straight forward install - just easier with a lift. You can probably get it done by a dealer for warranty but for the little price it cost to DIY you might as well try it and see if it helps with the steering issues.

The LCA is an Lexus OEM part - the RCF and GSF use the same style LCA but just with different bushing stiffness. There’s several threads about it on CL and it’s a common mod for IS owners to help with tire wear.

I ordered the parts from lexuspartsnow

Part No.: 48075-24010
48076-24010

also I replaced my stabilizer links and tie rods + wheel bearings so that also might help with the ride I would suggest you check those on your cars. At 206K miles my GS drives almost straight as an arrow and the suspension feels tight and solid. My shocks probably need to be replaced but I don’t see any leaks and it doesn’t bother me much yet because it’s still a smooth ride.

Default Still not good

I have the same problem that many people here in the forum try to explain, it feels like the vgrs is not working properly, one second the steering is hard and the next second, the same input I place on the steering wheel makes the car almost leave the lane.

i can’t drive comfortably, I can’t relax in the car. I have to Always check the road for what’s coming to counteract the way the car is going to act on that particular bump. Sometimes the car pulls to the right, i correct that, then it’s corrected too much and I have to steer to the right again, and this keeps going on like this.

i have a 2013 F sport model

the things I have done to fix these problems

aligntment 3 times
calibrating the vgrs system
calibrating the rear wheel steering system
4 brand new tires
my rims are straight
f sport bushings

It seems like Putting the car in sport + makes it a little bit less wobbly.

Everything under my car has been checked..

i really don’t know what to do and I’m planning to sell the car….. people who have this same issue know exactly what I’m trying to explain but it’s just hard to explain and you have to feel it for yourself

I feel like it’s a combination of the VGRS and Rear wheel steering system, but I don’t think it can be fixed
