Am going to get the car serviced as it’s going to be due for an oil change soon so figured I get a lot of things done all at once. If I need to I don’t mind spending 2 k dollars to service the car. providing I get treated well and the car drives Like new ?
June would make it 6 years since I’ve had the car for. and I daily drive it as it is my only vehicle for now.
So I would like to take care of it so that in the future it will last for a while, and would have gotten my money’s worth, After the fact that I was able to put 130k on it as the 2nd owner. if all goes well!
To cut to the chase because am disgusted with the way RVC has been and treated me I was going to give Lexus of massapequa a go to service it there! or if it’s not a good idea I’ll just take it to Toyota!
Kindly leave some input on this matter.
at the moment I have a noise coming from driver front wheel sounds like a fluttering noise will try and get a video up of the issue so that can give a better idea of what I’ve been experiencing a few days now.
Just do what your service manual tells you to do.
IF you want the car to drive like new, then install new shocks. Get KYB gas a just, depending on your model some are out of stock but it's worth looking at.
$2,000 for the recommended Lexus service is a total rip off. You could do the brake fluid, diff oil change, engine oil change, air filter change, ect for 1/4 that price at any indy mechanic.
If you do it yourself, you can buy the parts for around $100 and save yourself a lot of money. No way the service is worth $1900 in labor.
I had the 60k service done last week at a Lexus dealer. Parts $298.21, labor $613.76 tax $27.61.
I've mentioned it before on here that I've aged out of doing my maintenance any more. The dealer's maintenance tech sent me a video of a car walk around with it up a lift. Showed no oil/water/trannny/differential/shocks leaking. Showed me the rotors thickness, tires treadlife, no exhaust leaks/rust. I was impressed. In my younger days I would have done the work myself. They gave me an AWD ES as a loaner. It was pretty nice, nicer than I would have thought.
Instead of making another thread I am testing the waters on it so it is for sale at 23k.... am the 2nd owner and purchased in June 2015 and has been taken cared of by me
i know what it’s worth and the fact they no longer build the gs makes it a bit more desirable.
Just made appointment for this Saturday at Lexus of 110 in farmingdale ny hope all goes well! I pray they don’t try and screw me over. I already mentioned to the receptionist RVC was not able to meet my needs. So am willing to give them a try and hopefully they do the right thing. However if not you know I will be right back here ranting and exposing my experience and on google review. you do the right thing the word will get around and if you do garbage work your reputation will be damaged and you will lose business.
