Default Borla Axleback with aftermarket resonator sound clips

Got some aftermarket resonators installed yesterday and I'm very satisfied. They're paired with the Borla axleback and AFE Takeda cold air intake. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person with this exact setup and think it sounds amazing. There's someone on IG with Borla and this resonator without the Takeda CAI and we both agree mine has a slightly deeper tone.

You're leaving out key details: Did you get the resonator installed on the axleback or did you get it installed on the mid-pipe and how big is it? And is the mid-pipe oem or is it aftermarket?

It’s simply the Borla Axleback and I had the OEM resonators replaced with these aftermarket ones. https://aeroexhaust.com/i-30497639-a...%7Cyear%3D2013

No drone, still really quiet inside when cruising. I have a video recorded of me cruising at 75 at 2.1K rpm and basically all you hear is just wind noise. But then again someone on here tried telling me hearing noise from an aftermarket exhaust during acceleration is considered “drone” so everyone has a different opinion apparently lol

Not sure if this in reference to me asking for a sound clip from 2k-3500rpm under slight acceleration. I figured if that's where I've heard drone in other GS using muffler shop exhausts and theres's a video of yours without, I could recommend the Borla system to them.

Can’t remember if it was you or not but the Borla by itself was quiet inside no matter what. It was too quiet under full acceleration for me which is why I went with Takeda and now swapped resonators as well. Anyway, here’s the clip I have of me cruising with my current setup

That's awesome! I've recommended a few GS owners to listen to your Vids. Thanks for the time you took to take them.

thank you. I’m trying to help others with stuff I couldn’t find myself beforehand. It sucks that the aftermarket is really limited for our cars and there’s barely any content out there as well

You may have found the perfect balance

Would you say cold starts and high rpm are louder than before you switched out resonators?

Yeah, definitely louder than before, I'm in love with the cold starts now lol. From the inside under hard acceleration it's still mostly the Takeda intake that you'll hear for the most part but you can hear the exhaust too now that the resonators are swapped. It's a different tone than before and I love it. Too bad it won't pick up on camera well

Kingmatt

I have the product in my shopping cart ready to go, I just like you want a little louder than axel back only.

Would you say compared to when you had stock resonator now the cruising sound at 75 mph is only 10-15% louder? Or closer to 50%

It’s still really quiet while cruising at 75, at that point you’re really just gonna be hearing wind noise. I’m big on no drone for my setups and trust me, in person you can barely hear anything. Yesterday I recorded a vid cruising at 80-85 for fun and it’s dead quiet lol. I’ll post it
