Glad my local Lexus Service doesn't gouge me on pricing, although I can see why folks avoid them. I just had my AWD quoted for front parts only and that came out to $450 CAD or $366 USD. Thankfully our brakes are stupid easy to do and just take your time.

Yeah the GS front pads are so easy to replace. Cleaning up actually takes more time than swapping the pads.

Is there anything special about the F sport? that i should know about for the front brakes. They kinda of squeal for the first 5 mins after you pull off but after that they are quiet and it stop fine.
I thought its just the rust coming off because the car sits sometimes for 3-4 days at a time.
Dealer said still 6/32 of pad left. They said the shims need to be replaced
I have changed brakes and rotors before on cars and usually the shims come with the brake pads.

The car has been sitting a lot this year due to covid
If you are handy, you can do them quite easily yourself. Here are two videos from CL members @DIYDanCars and @ItzFilyO

I am one to do my own maintenance as well for the simpler things. Going in to dealer for the one last oil change on CPO 2013 GSH. So will be up to me a year from now. Are oil changes easy enough? I know there is the cartridge filter thing to deal with which seems like a potential mess. Guess I will check brakes when I rotate my tires myself. Good to know brakes are nothing special.

As easy as any other car. The cartridge oil filter is not as bad as you might think. Its a little bit more messy than your typical canned oil filter, but not by much. You just have to drain the oil from the cartridge itself before removing it all the way. The replacement oil filter comes with a "nipple" that you will use for drain. I think it takes me 5 minutes longer to change the oil in Lexus, compared to a vehicle with a canned filter.

The last time I did it, I did not bother to even drain or remove the end. I just pulled the whole thing off. It didn't really make any more mess.

What I do is take an old rag or paper towel and put it in a plastic shopping bag once the filter housing is loosened. Everything stays pretty much in the bag and I barely get my gloves oily.
