I am looking to buy this used GS and this photo with the passenger seat in the background stuck out to me. Is this passenger seat damaged? I'm not so concerned about the wrinkles on the fabric but it looks like it's squished in on the sides where a person's legs would be. Has anyone else experienced this on their GS? I don't want to have to replace a seat on a car that's less than 5 years old.
I live a few hours away from this vehicle so I can't just go over and take a look at it
That does look odd. Either something was pressed hard against it prior to the pictures, or it's deformed from it being pressed against something for a long time.
Getting a passenger seat from a yard isn't that difficult or expensive - you'd just need the inner foam and maybe the skin.
If the car is near Cleveland I could go look at the seat
the way it is wrinkled i'd suspect it's been repaired or at some point the leather was removed for some reason. wouldn't be a deal break, but i'd examine closely.
Like @IcyBishop said, it looks like it was pressed up against something - as if they moved the seat forward and had a suitcase pressed against the leather for a while creating the deformation.
A rare refreshed lux pkg too - so a nice find. Definitely reach out to the dealership as mentioned by @jsch222 - my dealership was willing to fix seat discoloration before I took delivery (they send it out to a local leather repair guy).
It looks like the seat cover was removed and reinstalled/replaced slightly askew. It's happened to me before, but I was able to massage it back into place.
Looks like it was replaced or repaired with so and so workmanship. If you are OCD or not happy with the quality, just look for another vehicle. It will bother you to either get it repaired again, looks like the seat cover.
How's the vehicle condition? Did you pull the VIN # from the Lexus website on the maintenance (drivers.lexus.com)?
