Default Now that GS got discontinued, how easy is it to get parts?

I am interested in buying a 2018-2020 model year of GS350 F Sports. I am curious how easy or hard it is to get car parts for replacement. Do they continue to be produced?

Longer if parts are shared. Engine is used in a lot of Toyota/Lexus products. Front Suspension is a mixed of 3rd gen GS/2nd gen IS, rear suspension is also shared with the 3rd gen IS. I wouldn't worry about parts shortage for a discontinued vehicle.

Yeah, especially a Toyota. They're the best when it comes to ordering parts.

You can still get parts for 20+ year old Toyotas. I wouldn't worry about mechanical things however it's trim and other miscellaneous items that might be hard to find after 10 years.

There is no such law in the United States. Manufacturers may support legacy parts for up to 20 years, but there is no federal regulatory commission that forces any manufacturer to support parts for any number of years.

Toyota still makes parts for the old MKIV Supra I think.

I wouldn't worry about parts so much. The car had a fairly long production run with most updates being cosmetic and other updates shared across different models. If you were talking about Volvo, Jaguar or some brand like that I would be worried but Toyota shares a lot of parts across all models.

Plenty of parts from Japan. GS is very popular there.

With the IS500 F Sport coming out, and Toyota still making the RC/IS350 F-sport, I think a very very long time. Both of those cars use parts that are found on our cars, especially the front end suspension.

They'll provide good support for quite some time before the only choice is picking through the junk yard for spare parts. Plus, as mentioned above, they share a lot of mechanical bits with other cars. Heck, all three of my vehicles basically have the same engine (2GR-FKS in the GS and Tacoma, and 2GR-FXS in the Highlander, which is the Atkinson cycle version of the FKS).

I just did a search for some different parts for a 1996 GS300. Everything I searched for was found. Even from Lexus still.

I've never known anyone who could not still get a part for a Older Lexus.

Interesting. Does the GS300 still share many parts with the GS350?

Depends on which GS300 were are looking at. If the 3rd gen, yes it shares a lot of parts with the IS\GS350. The 1st and 2nd gen GS shares a lot of parts with the Supra, SC, Crown and possibly the Cressida.
