Long time lurker, first time poster here. I've found 2 private sale GS's, ones a 2013 F-Sport with 69k Miles for $23k and the other is a 2016 F-Sport with 39.5k miles for $32k. Both are very clean, garage kept cars with no accidents or blemishes. The 2016 does have brand new Michelin PS4's, not sure of the tires on the 2013 ATM. If you had to choose, which one would be be? I know all car prices are up right now, I plan to keep either one for a bout a year or two and then get into a new 4dr Bronco, so I'm thinking neither one will really go down too much in resale value.

The 2016 will lose more value in the next few years comparatively. The 2013 has already depreciated more than 50% its original value and will slowly start to loose value over the years. If both cars have a good service history and owners took good care of them, the 2013 is the better deal especially if you plan to get rid of it in two years.
Also, the '13 is the more fun to drive of the two: its more of a driver oriented car as most that have driven both confirmed that the 2013 has sharper road feel, handling but it does ride a bit more rough. The 2016 has some really nice upgrades (full 12.3" screen nav, updated interior/ exterior styling, some engine refinements) but I don't think its worth the extra $9k.
That 2013 should probably be closer to $19k and the 2016 should be closer to $28k...crazy times! Used car prices are hyper-inflated right now!!

Neither is going to lose a lot of value as you've said, just feel like the newer one will be a better trade in a year or so.
Good luck either way!

I agree with the above CL member, the 2013 does have a sportier drive, while the 2016+ are smoother on the road.

I had the 2013 f sport and recently traded it in for a 2017 non f sport. If you’re thinking about which is a smarter purchase, go with the 2013 since you’re saving yourself 9k and only keeping it for a couple years max. If you’re asking me which model I prefer more, go with the 2016 as I believe it has the better front end and tail lights, lower miles, and more standard options inside as well.

What color? F-Sport? I'll give you $31k for it asap. Let me know.

Def go Lexus, forget the insight lol!
For perspective while you’re on the hunt… I paid 38k for my 2017 luxury package gs350 w/ mark levinson. I overpaid due to the market but it’s certified pre owned, so the warranty was worth it. Plus they they installed a new windshield, new Michelin tires, and new brake pads up front. I was willing to pay the premium to get the peace of mind and bc I found the color combo (eminent pearl on black w black powder coated Lexus luxury wheels) I wanted. Has 33k miles.

If I were to pick, I would go with the 2016 model one. Less miles overall plus newer tires. If you plan to resale in the future, it will sell easier also due to it being the 2016 model.

Well, I guess I have some insight on your situation. I was hunting for a 2013-2015 model all of 2018-2019. In November of 2019, I found that Riverside had a 2014 and 2016. I was pretty set on getting the 2014, because it was ultimately less money, $7K to be exact. I had no intentions on getting the 2016 at all. I looked at all used Lexus on dealer websites. Once there were on the lot, they tend to sell pretty quick. I bought a non CPO. It wasn't necessary to spend $2-3K more. Longo is a nice dealer here in Socal, but the pricing is too high. You can easily check out other local dealers, and the pricing is less about 2-3K...I know they can charge high, because of their legacy. I like how they store all their cars under ground away from the sun. Also inside the dealership you can look at your car while its being worked on thru the glass showroom. Any how, I went to Riverside and came back with a 2016. I test drove both. The 2014 was a beat up trade in. All wheels were scratched up, the interior had smoky smell, it wasn't smooth and it was not worth it. I forgot the price, it was like $25-$27K ...I think both cars are great..if you have more $ budget, get the 2016. Otherwise there both pretty close I think...
So the 2016, had new tires, front brake pads/rotors, air filter, wipers..oil...Pretty much restored to new with 37K miles, 1 owner. My first Lexus was a 2001 GS300...I only sold it because I needed an SUV at the time, but back to a Lexus.

Yeah, go with 2016+ GS350 FSport. This car is a dream to daily drive.
Just a warning... It'll probably be really hard to let go of the GS after u own it for a while. So that Bronco dream might be gone after u drive a GS.

Seller of the 2016 doesn't seem like he's really trying to sell the car lol. I found a 2017 that's 1 mile from me, private sale, Silver on peanut butter, 22k miles for $36k. I'm really not a fan of the peanut butter seats but the car is clean as hell.
