Do akebono act 118 pads squel for anyone with a base (lux) awd ?

Is all the squeling complaints only related to F sports (2 part rotor) and RWD ?

Planning on running oem rotors and akebono pads just for the front to reduce brake dust.

They don't squeal, I put some on front/back a few months ago. Just use the supplied grease on all the shims and areas you are supposed to.

Absolutely no squeal for me with rhe Akebono pads on front. Please use the grease they supply in the box.. I believe I used Wagner for the rear.13 AWD just installed myself a little over two months ago.

Yeah just installed these last night. I used the OEM shims and lubed the back of the shim that touches the pistons. No squeals at all right now.

Be aware. There are 2 different options for most of the Akebono pads. A OEM line and a Performance line. At least for my GS there is. The OEM is Ceramic mostly and is low to no dust. The Performance does give better braking and longer wear, but does produce brake dust more. Neither will make any noise as long as you install and lube and clean correctly.

I have been using Akebono for years on my Lexus's and all other cars. Its the only pad I use. Its a very good high quality pad.

You're right. The OEM is the ACT which I went with and the performance is ASP. This is my daily driver and I am always in stop/go traffic so I went with ACT. Been only one day but it's just perfect.
