Default What is this?

Ok this is my 2nd what is post. I know 1 is likely for my 2013 GS350 Lux Rain Sensor Wipers.

What is the other Black Box? There are 2. This is above the center rearview mirror on the front windshield.

I believe that's the humidity sensor so the HVAC knows when to kick it into defogging and recirculation mode.

So is that different with the refresh or with a car with adaptive cruise control? I'll have to go look but I swear on mine it's just one big unit, not two. Seems like someone is always making one/some of us run out and look at their cars

Yes your recent holes in the hood missing something thread, had me go out and open my hood. When I 1st read I would have swore I did not have holes, and that there was a rubber strip or something there. Sure enough I was SMH, thinking why have I never noticed it before. I had the same holes. lol!

I had to check my hood too to see and was reminded that there is something loose inside my hood, maybe a rock or something that somebody put in one of the holes. It doesn't always rattle around but occasionally when opening and shutting the hood I can hear it roll around. I'd love to get whatever it is out of there but have no idea how to do it or to even find it.

Yea that's a tough one, I cant think at the moment how you would resolve that one. Maybe someone here will.

Now you do realize some of us like me, are going to check their hood to see it theirs are rattling too.

Looks like your between a "rock" and a hard place there... 😉 You can never take for "Granite" the ability for foreign objects to find the smallest hole. You could always take the hood off and "rock" it back and forth.... All jokes aside, I have a plastic clip that fell into trunk/boot crevas to never be seen again. You could try to get one of those extension things that has a metal close/open grasp and fish it around until you can grab it and pull it out. Or if you hit "rock" bottom with your frustration level you could always relax with some "rock & roll" with one of the greatest bands the "Rolling Stones"

Take your hood off, hold it with the front edge down and tilted back a little so the holes face down a little, and "rock" the hood side to side until it falls out. Then put the hood back on. Simple.

I'm hesitant to even mention this.....but seriously, I'm wondering if anyone has seen the underside of the hood underneath where the padded part is? I know on other car hoods it can be more open under that area. Now lets see how many people go take that pad off, find out how dirty it is under there and spend the day detailing it.
