Bought a 14 GS350 F-Sport from a dealer and it came with a K&N CAI - Questions
As the title suggests, my GS came with a K&N typhoon CAI but with a regular Denso filter in it. This was a surprise to me and was not advertised by the dealer.
Anyways, having read up a little on these CAI's it seems like this one in particular not only doesn't increase power, but also robs the car of some intake sound? People are referring to a noise generator.
So now I'm sitting here wondering if I should try to find a stock intake or just leave it as is. Thoughts?
TIA

Leave as is... no need to install sound generator. I removed my sound generator soon after getting my GS. From feedback on CL, intakes are pretty useless for generating additional power, most use them to "pretty-up" the engine bay or introduce addition intake sound.

Why did you remove your sound generator?

Check the thread for more details. I have mine off too... put it back for a weekend but I'm too used to not having that "noise" in my cabin now. Also as yours is the pre-refreshed 4GS, you can probably get the fuel pump cover for even quieter operation (if that's what you want)...

The sound generated by the stock intake sound generator is nice! It's no V8 but it's still sounds very nice when u gun it hard.
At least the GS doesn't pump engine noise through the speakers, it's the real induction sound like those aftermarket intakes with open-filter style.
The sound makes driving the GS fun, if u want a quiet car just get the ES or EV. My 2021 ES pumps fake engine noise through the speakers in Sport mode but my GS growls all day long.
