Default Side Mirrors Wiggle

I have a 2014 GS that I picked up in May. I noticed that both side mirrors wiggle when driving at speeds above 50mph. Mirrors themselves, not the housing. More so it’s the passenger side. It has BSM and they are fully functional in all directions. Is this a known issue?

Mine is a 15 without BSM and both mirrors have slight play, up and down and side to side. So im thinking that some play is standard.

Thats not normal. is it wiggling from the base were it attaches to the door or the top of the base?

Its just the mirror/glass itself that has a very slight movement... Go to your car and push around the edges of the mirror and see if you get any movement. The mirror housing and neck that attaches to the door are fine.

When you remove the mirror part itself, it exposes the white adjustment frame. There are screws on that, probably loose, and just needs to be tightened. My mirror part itself doesn't move at any speed.

The mirror itself just clips to the mount correct? So its a semi-friction fit? So depending on the climate and conditions of the region you are in might make that white plastic mount slightly shrink and increase the tolerance between the two parts. But i will go and check to see if my mount is fully tightened down. Thanks for the tip👍🏻

Yes just clips in. The arrows in the pic point to were it clicks into. You have to stick your hand behind the mirror and pull, but don't put too much pressure on the mirror/glass part itself, because you can accidentally crack it.

Awesome! One screw was loose on the driver side mirror and the lower inner part of the mirror wasn’t clipped in on the passenger side. Thanks for this!
I’m wondering if someone was messing with this prior to me because of the white goop on mine and not yours… oh well …
