Will you keep your thirsty GS 350?

Gas in Los Gatos (Silicon Valley) just went up again. I paid like $4.45 for rag at a local station. It was about 20 cents cheaper a week or so ago.
Last time I gased up the GS at Costco premium was $4.49 I think, which is the highest I have paid there.

I drive 7-9k miles a year so the fuel cost is basically negligible for me. It basically comes down to driving a car that you'd actually want to drive.
Once you factor in the depreciation/financing/taxes on the new car, you're likely worse off than just keeping your old car running.

$8.50 I hope not! Thankfully I can get between 40-50mpg in my 2021 ES depending on the type of trip but even then $8.50 would sting! But hey honestly... welcome to the rest of the world pricing. normal!
On a positive note this will encourage more hybrid and electric car take up. i think it can be a good thing long term. apparently once you go electric, generally you don't go back. it's like ahh it wasn't this nightmare i thought it would be. and charging infrastructure gets better continually anyway.

We just drove from Albuquerque to Niagara Falls and back October 5-19. This were the prices for premium. We didn't search for cheaper gas, but just bought at the nearest stations.
Amarillo 3.499
Wichita 3.569
Columbia, MO 3.499
Indianapolis 4.029
Columbus, OH 3.859

Niagara Falls, NY 3.999
Independence, NY 3.899
Terre Haute 4.029
Rolla, MO 3.699
OK City 3.799 (No ethanol)
Amarillo 3.629
Albuquerque 4.049
I don't plan to let the price of gas make me sell the GS350. The difference between money spent on gas and money spent on a new car makes it not worth it until gas gets really expensive.

The GS isn't going anywhere....I'm with @JDR76 , I'd rather have a vehicle I enjoy and pay a little more for gas.
Premium had been running $4.05, last fill-up on Monday evening was $4.09 @ Chevron. Mind you this is for full service since that's all we have (yes, even at Costco) When I first moved here I wasn't a fan but now I'm spoiled - it's nice to just relax

Found an article, here's a graphic, this is for regular unleaded - looks like this is in one town on the Big Sur coast.
Back in 2008 I remember paying over $5/gal for regular unleaded in California - mostly in the central valley so by this things aren't even that bad. I'm guessing a large part of the $7.50 price is the transportation getting the fuel to the station given the current cost of trucking.

Comparing Gorda to the other CA cities is simply adding an outlier to the data. There will always be remote places that do sell gas but people rarely buy there.
This is the same thing as the $8.50 price from the original post.
SF is generally has the highest gas prices where people actually fuel their cars.

I live about 22 miles from Yosemite NP and have to pay semi resort area prices. Chevron tops out @ $5.09 but most places are in the mid $4s. Ragged Pt., Gorda and Lee Vining are the highest I’ve seen anywhere but still not $8.

Honestly, I will like to keep my GS for as long as I possibly can, mainly because I HATE the touch screen interface that is becoming a standard in every car now days. Whenever I do end up trading my GS in for something new, it will be a huge adjustment for me, unless I come across a brand that is still holding on to the "old age" all button and no touch screen interface. May be in the next 5 years that "retro" style will come back. Besides, not having a car payment is quite a good feeling.
