Will you keep your thirsty GS 350?
Premium gasoline is $8.50 per gallon in parts of California, headed for $10.00 or higher per gallon. Will you keep your thirsty GS 350?

My poverty GS 250 isn’t thirsty at all.
Long term average at 30mpg, gas price is about $8/gallon here.
Planning on keeping it for minimum 10years. Aiming for 300k km on the clock before I let it go.

The Cali boys are gonna be hurtin' for certain!
..............................
California recently banned gas lawn mowers and leaf blowers, so the price of gasoline at the pump should be coming down soon!

It sad that we were energy independent and a net exporter of energy less than a year ago and now we are begging OPEC, "Please, sir, may I have more?"

When hurricane Sandy and dropped in on the Northeast, there were lines (both of cars and people waiting) for gasoline at every gas station local to me. I had my GS430 at the time and as it aged, the gas mileage was closer to 12/13 MPG in the city.
When that happened, it motivated me to get a more fuel efficient vehicle as I spilled gasoline one day during Sandy when I was trying to fill up car and it was just an absolute mess (i was barely able to get a standard red gas canister during that time!).
Kinda makes you wonder if gas prices are going up making inefficient ICE cars less "attractive" in states like Cali / NY, but maybe eventually so will the power needed for BEVs or other alternatives. But, I ended up getting into a 4GS anyway in spite of that negative experience as things calmed down ... I don't think I drive enough to warrant getting rid of the GS because of the fluctuating gas prices.

If I ever do get rid of the GS, I'd probably replace it with something that gets just as 'bad' MPG.

Chevron near me is $4.80 for premium, but fuel efficiency isn't much of a concern for me. I don't really care. If I did, I'd have to ditch my truck that is only getting around 10-11 mpg.
I'd rather have a car I like with poor mileage than a car I don't like but with good mileage.

I'm feeling it man! But good thing I don't have to drive that much anymore. Gas in CA has always been high so I guess we're kinda used to it.
Neighbor just bought a 6.4L HEMI Challenger and I never saw that thing leave the garage, except when he revs the engine and go around the block for 5 mins a week.

Living in Silicon Valley, Costco gas is the way to go. I was paying $4.29 for wannabe 91* premium, on Monday I paid like $4.45. Gas stations are 20 to 50 cents higher...
By the way, those $8 prices are in remote areas like the Yosemite Valley. Hardly the norm.
What you don't hear about is the 10 cents per gallon for using a credit card (Costco excluded). So if I am paying $4,90, I am really paying $5. Ouch.
We love the GS. It is a great car. Not for sale. But we may need to putt around in the Tesla a bit more.
Heck, if something happens to the GS, I will likely be in the market for another! All good.
