Default how to stop steering wheel from moving

when i enter/buckle up/start engine.

i figured out how to stop the seat from moving every time i got in the car. i figure why use those motors if there is no need.

is there a way to disable the steering wheel ? i don't need the extra room when entering or exiting the car.

I don't think that one can be disabled, only the seat.

Agreed... only the seat can be disabled. I initially thought the same as you but I'm since gotten accustomed to it.

my car still under warranty so no. i would think if you are paying for a servive they wouldn't have an issue of doing it for free.

It’s a dealer only setting. I used Techstream to temporarily disable it once.

It can definitely be disabled using techstream. You can also configure it to retract halfway instead of all the way.

I don't need it, but I kinda like mine retracting halfway. It would drive me crazy if it retracted all the way.

This is how I have mine.

At some point of owning this car, I had the steering retract completely off because I didn't like how switching from Ignition on to Power On causes the wheel to retract and come out again causing unnecessary wear(and music to turn off too). Since then, I use the workaround(thanks to other CL members) by shifting to neutral, pressing the power switch to get into Power on, then shift into park. Wheel doesn't retract and no interruption in music.

Halfway does help getting in and out and not rubbing my knee on the bottom of the steering wheel. I have the seat pullback off though, not old enough to need that yet.

So it does everything I want now.
