Default Lane Keep Assist (LKA) doesn't really work anymore

I have a 2016 GS and it used to be pretty good at keeping me in the lane, and it would practically turn for me when making gradual turns. Changing lanes without signaling, for instance, would really take effort. It was a nice feature I thought. But it has just gotten worse and worse, and now it won't even really turn the wheel at all, it just vibrates the steering wheel if I'm leaving the lane.

Is there a way to recalibrate it or reset it altogether? It's pretty much completely useless now. I've never changed any of those settings, but I have gone back into the settings several times to make sure everything is enabled. I can also see that it's on while driving, it just simply doesn't do anything like it used to.

Your steering assist is turned off. Turn it back on. Vibration is the departure alert.

It’s all on, it’s just not as strong as it used to be. Just wondering if there’s a way to recalibrate it or reset it.

Is there any chance that your sensitivity settings were changed? This is how I have mine set:

The Lane Center only works when the cruise control is on right?

Yes, that's correct.

I was never impressed with the lane keep on my 2017. Didn’t feel like it adjusted much and also never really felt centered in the lane.

Didn’t bother me much because I decided I didn’t want it on. Sometimes I will get close to the line on roads without any other cars and I don’t want it vibrating my steering wheel in those cases.

Maybe my settings were wrong. I’m curious now how other people have it set.

Yeah me too, old school. It only works best if the road is clean with the lines clearly visible (AKA: new roads).

On another note, there was this older Tesla Model S which I think was having a glitch on its auto pilot thing. The car would sway left and right and was auto braking in the carpool lane with the pole style traffic barrier, almost causing an accident and I was driving behind it. Some scary stuff with these things. I think the auto pilot sees the poles as a human or an object and it decided to brake.

I have this on one my of cars and have used on other Lexus loners. LKA and Radar Cruise control are a waste of option to me. RCC puts me to sleep driving, and I never want to drive based on my car tracking other cars pace. Even the Blind spot monitoring gets on my nerves if I have a short path to past someone who cant drive and is holding up the left lane, or driving slow then fast, slow then fast.

Going down the road and there is a object there, like a board in the road way, I steer over to avoid and LKA starts fighting me back into it and vibrating the wheel. I turn it off on every car I drive, because I pay attention to stay in my lane and adjust my mirrors correctly and still turn my head to look back quickly before I change lanes. I know it's great for some people. its jus not my personal cup of Tea at all.
