Completely crazy to me that these cars go through shocks so quickly. San Antonio does have some crappy roads tho.
Bigger rims, and stiff suspension is not practical daily if your roads are bad. Seems like your shocks are going out every 20k.
My 450h 116k+ miles original shocks, no leaks, and I do have the occasional pothole.

My 450h 116k+ miles original shocks, no leaks, and I do have the occasional pothole.
None of my other cars with larger rims or stiff suspensions ever had this issue. AVS seems to be the common problem especially on the 17 RCF and GSF.

Anyhow, I’m on the hunt for a ct200 or hs250 to take over daily duties, but not because the suspension is fragile lol. We are moving a little further out of the city to build our dream home.

Dealership took care of everything. I’ve bought 6 cars from them in the last 8 years, plus have given them plenty of referral business. Guess that part doesn’t hurt lol. My wife is also going to be ordering an IS500 soon. I tried to get her into a launch edition, but she doesn’t like the color.

Unfortunately I do not. The shocks themselves are cheaper for the GSF vs the other GS models. The labor is the expensive piece. Also, the GSF and RCF need to have their AVS recalibrated. Found that out after I initially had them all installed; all good now.

Looks like I get to contribute to my own thread.

1. 2018 F-Sport AWD, 44000 miles.
2. 1 rear shock leaking, discovered by dealership today (my last L-Certified prepaid service). They are going to replace under L-Certified Warranty, I am paying out of pocket to replace the other side.
3. No lowering springs as of now.

I will be replacing the fronts out of pocket with KYB Gas-a-Justs and installing RSR Down Springs and SPC camber arms in the spring. Speaking of, is there an aftermarket OEM replacement front shock mount kit? It is mind boggling that the OEM strut mount/dust shield/bump stop is $130.00 when the aftermarket replacement shock is only $80.00.

Just sifted through all the data here.
Looks like you are the 1st with AWD to report the AVS issue.
The part numbers are different from RWD / AWD probably because of the weight as mentioned before for 450H.

2012 GS250 Luxury.
155k km in really harsh environment.
All stock shocks still,no leaks yet but I’m expecting it any time now.

2012 GS350 lux. Original AVS shocks. Shocks still in good condition. Not living in first world country roads.
new - 105,000KM = stock wheels
105,000KM - 107,xxxKM = Swift springs, 20" wheels. GS F front brakes.
