I broke my car :(
I backed over a curb and broke off the ears that bolt the rear bumper skin together with the rear fender well. I also broke a white plastic thing behind the body panels.
What is that white plastic thing?
I'm thinking that I can fasten the two panels together using double sided tape. Does anyone have experience with that?
I'm annoyed at Lexus for putting a bolt in such an exposed location. It took a trivial mistake to snap it off. And the car may be 2013, but the bumper skin is only a couple of years old. The Lexus dealer quietly replaced it before they sold the car to me.

I take no responsibility if you mess up, but I’ve built back plastic bumper tabs with plastic welder and flexible filler. If the tab is hard plastic use a washer and epoxy. If the tab is metal, use a mig welder or jb weld and weld a modified washer in its place. You can be really Mickey Mouse with it and use a drill and zip ties.

I replaced the bumper support and the wheelhouse liner. When I got a good look at the bolt hole on the bumper cover, I decided that a washer would hold it well enough.
If it doesn't last, I will do plastic welding. I did some experiments with a broken lid of a plastic bin, and it worked pretty well. I saved the broken bits of the bumper cover that were still attached.

I had something rip through my rear fender liner and break this white plastic support. You have to take the wheel and the fender liner off to get the access to replace this part. There is still enough plastic for the screw to grab onto whats left of that bumper hole.when you re tighten it.
This is all relatively minor stuff at least the visible part of the bumper from a standing position was not damaged.

I replaced the bumper support and the wheelhouse liner. The liner had gotten into the tire while driving and it got torn. There isn't much strength to it.
My big concern about the bumper cover is that I don't want it to get loose and start flapping around. There is enough clamping force between the washer and the plastic that it should hold together.
