Default Transmission Slip

I have a 2018 GS 350 Sport. I recently noticed that sometimes the transmission feel like its slipping when changing gears in high gear (6 - 8). Has anyone experienced this?

Have you been doing burnouts or anything that would abuse the transmission?
Any known previous accidents?
How many miles on the car?

Take it in as soon as possible while your car is under warranty. Once the warranty gets over, the dealership will find ways to siphon as much as they can from your pocket. And Lexus Corporate will always side with the dealership.

Must be that lifetime fluid... Just kidding!
How many miles on your car? Have you serviced the transmission?
Good luck with your GS.

Might need an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) reprogramming or update. Lexus has done several transmissions over the years with minor slips in shifting....My 2001 IS300 had one of them.

Thanks for all the responses. The mileage is around 33,000. Car is a 2018 350 F Sport. No, no burnouts. or abuse or accidents. I drive the car exclusively in manual mode. I did the same with my IS which I had for 84,000 miles with no issues. I plan to take it in soon. Not sure if they will be able to duplicate the issue as it occurs very infrequently. But at least least there will be record of it in case something happens later.

Driving exclusively in manual mode would put more on the Trans and have the Trans fluid temp run much hotter than just normal. I have seen data on the Temps and that Trans fluid can get hotter than I would like to see. I say the Fluid needs a exchange and Filter and it fixes the problem. Is also why I don't like that in Sport mode it hold the Gears for a time even after you decelerate. That causes extra for the Trans and T/C to do braking also. I fairly certain that unfortunately we will see more Trans threads here as the cars go up in miles and age coming.

The choice to go lifetime, on the Trans that the Trans Manufacture says service, and Lexus said service with the same Trans and fluid just a few years ago. Why I change my fluid and filter on a schedule.

I think the 8-speed transmission is known for "hunting" for gears more. You could also be feeling the torque converter locking and unlocking, which would seem like slipping when it is unlocked.

I would definitely take it in if it is under warranty and get it documented.

I took it in to the dealer and they stated there were no fault codes from the transmission. You maybe right on hunting. I used to drive very hard and started driving easy. The transmission programming is adaptive to the driver habits so this maybe the cause. Anyway, I have a 120,000 mile warranty so plenty of time to get it resolved. Thank you.

I will request the fluid change if the issue continues longterm. Thanks for responding.
