A couple months ago I started noticing a whining noise in my car (2013 gs350 f sport) whenever I accelerated. Since then it’s become worse. The noise gets louder as I accelerate, and even sitting in park the noise isn’t as bad but can still hear it. Can hear the noise both inside and outside the car. The noise will stop when I let off the gas and coast and when I’m reversing, but constant other than that. I took it to a mechanic who specializes in Toyota/Lexus vehicles, and he said they couldn’t find anything wrong, but this noise is new has has become worse since I first heard it a couple months ago. Any suggestions? I hate hearing it and not being able to have it fixed. Thank you.

Did you accidentally lock your wife in the car… lol.

if your specialized Lexus/Toyota mechanic can’t give you an explanation, not sure just how good of a mechanic he can possibly be.

No similar noise in my GS but in past cars, I would suspect belts, pulleys and power steering. Good luck, let us know what you find.

@Brayv I know there was a whining noise TSB for AWD GS's (RC's and IS's as well) that fell under the powertrain warranty (6yrs/72k miles): https://www.tsbsearch.com/Lexus/L-SB-0001-16

I had a Lexus dealership address this a few years ago - the whining noise was more between 25-60 but very prominent with moderate throttle ~60mph. Unfortunately, you may be outside of the warranty period but it may help guide your investigation if you have AWD.
