Does anyone know what it's called, and where I can find, the caulking material used to seal around the opening to the fuel pump where it sits on the top of the tank? It's black, and must be gasoline-resistant, but I'm not sure what to call it. Supper-sticky black stuff that remains pliable. Thanks!
That's what I initially thought, but my understanding is that butyl degrades when exposed to gas. I suppose if the FSM says it's OK, it should be. Thanks!
It shouldn't' be exposed to gas. You're talking about the thing that seals the service cover in the bodywork, not the fuel pump to fuel tank seal (the biiiiig ring), right?
